William “Bill” Mead has been a practicing attorney for 48 years. He attended the University of Vermont for his B.A. and later received his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law. William is a member of the New Jersey State Bar, as part of the Workers’ Compensation section.
William began his career working with Conlan and Gurr. During his twenty years with the firm, he was made a partner and the firm became Gurr, McCue and Mead. With an interest in Workers’ Compensation, he left the firm and opened his own office in Montclair. He also continued to work in New York for an insurance company as an adjustor. This commitment allowed him to travel all over the country. He represented insurance companies in multimillion dollar cases such as the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing. When the insurance company moved to Chicago he stayed behind to focus on his Montclair office. William has been specializing in Workers’ Compensation for the past 16 years.
While attending Seton Hall Law School, William met his wife who was a student at the University’s Nursing School. William has been a runner since he was eight years old and continues to jog when he gets the chance. He was also an avid tennis player and skier.
